Christmas Time

Nov 24, 2018

Check the candlestick holders! Goodwill, $2.00 & some spray paint :)

These were shot with a 50 mm lens at f1.8, ISO 1000-1250 and a shutter speed of 1/50 sec to 1/400 sec. Typically I shoot at a much faster shutter speed, but when shooting electric lights it is best to use a slower speed because of light frequency issues. It's due to differing wavelengths of light emitted from electric lights- the first time I shot Christmas lights a few years ago my camera wasn't picking up the lights because I was shooting at such a high shutter speed...I PANICKED! I thought my camera was broken haha. A little research and practice though fixed everything. Photography is all about time and growth 💓
