For this leg of our trip we stopped in the Dominican Republic and took a taxi to Puerto Plata. We walked around and explored, sweated like crazy, ate some of the local food,
and stopped in some of their shops. I was shocked that children were allowed to drive dirt bikes on the public roads (licenses aren't required for these) in this city and that some drivers would pack a family of four on them! We witnessed a pretty bad motorbike wreck while we were there so if you ever find yourself in this area, I recommend walking or taking a cab...for sure.
((The best purchase of the day was this $1 fresh coconut water! So refreshing and they cut it open right in front of you. So good!))
