Grand Turk

Jul 10, 2018

For our first stop on our trip (after Miami), we visited Grand Turk Island in Turks and Caicos. This was my favorite stop! The beaches were beautiful and with a population of less than 4,000, there wasn't much on the island except for homes and palm trees.

Pretty much every place we went to on this trip you could still see the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, and it did feel weird going to vacation when some people don't even have their homes rebuilt- but the locals told us they were grateful for tourists because that is most of their income. I still felt bad though.

The water was so blue and so clear, it looked like jello when the small waves would crash on the shore! Strange comparison but that's what I remember thinking about haha.

I had my hair braided by two local ladies on the beach. They told me I was a very nice lady (They said they had seen me picking up the solo cups the other tourists had left on the beach. Asses.) and that I should have babies because my mom will want grandchildren haha. They were lovely and my braid lasted about half of the week :)

Did my husband seriously wear a Pats tank with his swimming shorts? Yes. Yes he did.
