Spring Florals

One of my favorite things to wait for every spring is for the azaleas to bloom. I love how wild and beautiful they look and all the different shades of pinks and purples. They just make everything look so much prettier and I loveee pretty <3 Anyway, you know I love Free People dresses & this one might be my favorite yet. I typically stalk them until they go on sale, you don't really have to worry about them selling out because they're sold at so many retailers BUT once they do go on sale, act quick!

"Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will."
I have been thinking about this quote a lot lately. Sometimes I feel like just throwing in the towel and quitting blogging. People talk a lot, engagement goes up and down, it can be extremely discouraging. Then I remember how much I love it and it makes me want to keep going. I don't know if I can do this forever, or if this will always be my 'clothing' blog...we'll just have to see what happens I guess!

My Charleston Eats

Mar 30, 2017

One of my favorite things about vacations and trips is the food. I love trying new places and eating like a local. My rule is NO CHAIN restaurants (although I was craving Chick-Fil-A something fierce!). Anyway, I always try to eat at as many different places as I can- judge me, I care not. Luckily Taylor, my friend that went on this trip, ALSO loves to try new foods lol, so we were definitely a force to be reckoned with on the calorie front 🤣

PS: after writing this I am dumbfounded as to how we managed to eat all of this! Good thing we walked everywhere 😏

Scallops from Low Country Bistro...this wasn't my favorite. For the prices I feel like it could have been better, but that's just my opinion. They did however, have KILLER cocktails so if you want a drink at  nice place, go here.

Beech. This was our absolute favorite place! The Acai bowls are incredible and the Poke bowls are out of this world. We actually ate here three times in two days...that good.

We didn't eat at Husk but we did eat right next door at Poogan's Porch- def go here for breakfast! It was so fresh and the homemade biscuits were on. point.

Glazed Donuts. Gourmet donuts, enough said.

Magnolias was the first place we ate at. We literally changed clothes when we got to our room, and walked to the restaurant. We each got a different sandwich and side and split both- this way we could try more foods :) DELICIOUS! The pimento  cheese sandwich with bacon and fried green tomato is...omg.

We stumbled on King Street Cookies and had to go in, duh. They have dozens of different delicious cookies and a milk bar with all of the different milks (best milk ever!). If you want a semi-light tasty treat, def check this place out!

For a midday latte we went to Rise Coffee Bar. It's a tiny little coffee shop off of King Street with marble counter tops and cute tile flooring, aka highly instagrammable

We also went to Toast for a slice of cake and it was bomb! I wish we could have gone there for brunch one day buttt, we had other foods to eat <3

Top, Charleston boutique find. Similar here & here

I love off the shoulder tops but when you are out and about all day they can be kind of annoying with not staying up and stuff. Sooo, say hello to the best alternative- the cold shoulder top! I have a few from last year that I love and was so happy that there are so many great options this season! I lucked up and found this one at a cute boutique in Charleston 💗 Also! These are the jeans I am obsessed with. I loveee that they hold their shape all day and stay up without sagging and what-not.

Still loving daylight savings time! Tonight my mom & I went for a nice long walk then grabbed some sushi for dinner. I always get tuna sashimi with a side of rice and some sauce, so I can make a Poke bowl. I could literally live off of tuna sashimi. Anyway, it was still daylight when we finished with all of that and it's just so great..I feel like I can just get so much more accomplished 🌞

Sunny Yellow {Charleston, SC}

Mar 28, 2017

Sunglasses, Karen Walker

Sunday when my friend & I were packing up our things and trying to check out of the hotel & make it to get an acai bowl before the crowd (getting that bowl was far more important than packing neatly, you should have seen my suitcases) anyway I was in a rush and I freakin used conditioner instead of body lotion all over my legs...the hotel samples all look the same. Now I have teeny bumps all over my calves. Hoping some cortisone will help and they will go away soon!

One of the things I love most about cities like Charleston is being able to walk everywhere you need to go. You want coffee? Lunch? Need to go to Walgreen's? Yeah, you can walk there. I live in a small town so everything is kinda spaced out haha, but I always love ditching the car when I travel :) I usually opt for dresses if it's warm enough, mainly because they're easy and also super airy and comfy...obvi.

I'll share more pics of the city one day this week <3
