I actually wore this outfit twice this weekend, Friday night for date night and then again on Saturday running around all day (don't judge!). I love how comfortable the sweater and jeans are yet the Matisse leopard booties and bag make it look chic/put together. It's been such a great weekend, guys. Saturday I spent the day getting brunch, shopping, and drinking lots of coffee with my sister (Taylor), & my brother's girlfriend (also named Taylor, quite confusing sometimes). We are a very immature combo. My poor sister (she's 20) is literally like our babysitter when my & Taylor (brother's girlfriend) get together. I think we got on her nerves..actually yeah, we definitely got on her nerves. Anyway, that night we met up with my husband, brother (my brother and husband are bff's), my other sister and her boyfriend & my parents for dinner. Big crew! Thankfully we went to a loud restaurant so we didn't stand out lol. I love how goofy everyone acts when we get together. Then on Sunday I met up with my girlfriends for dinner, drinks, and catching up. I love my family & friend time! It's so good for the soul to stay connected and socialize, very thankful I have time to at this point in my life. When I was working full time and blogging (lots of hours a week!) it was so hard to have a social life. It also amazes me how it boosts your mood so much! Love it <3

I really wanted to name this post 'Rain Drop, Wrap Top' 😆, but I resisted. Anywayyyy, I love the sophistication (ironic considering what song I think of when I wear it!) of this top. It's so classy and can be dressed up or worn casual like I did with ripped denim & pumps. Speaking of pumps, I think my favorite classic pair that I have are from Nine West. They are reasonably priced, comfortable, and very practical. This is going to be an oddly short post (I know I randomly ramble a ton in my blog posts) bc I am beyond tired. I have had a total of 9 hours of sleep in the past two nights, with no naps haha. I don't know why all of a sudden I can't sleep at night, but it is catching up to me and I'm dragging 😴

PS: Can you tell it was super windy when these pics were snapped?? It was insane!

Today my friend Carolyn & I drove up to Blowing Rock, NC (I call it a Hallmark Channel town. It's just so quaint!) for the day and just explored, walked around, and did some window shopping. I got lucky and found my favorite scent everrr (Aromatique Cinnamon Cider) on mega sale so I stocked up! It was such a beautiful day, even in the mountains it was 60 degrees. The last time I went to Blowing Rock (post here) it was so cold and windy it was almost intolerable! I had never visited Blowing Rock during the week and I was a little surprised at how few people were there- it was quiet and relaxing. We had such a blast, it was  a simple trip but sometimes a change of scenery is needed! I even found a coffee shop that carried lavender lattes, holla! #fave

I know I wear some version of this combo A LOT but it's so easy to throw together and never fails me. I am trying to make a conscientious effort to not wear this combo (otk boots, sweater, hat) for at least a week lol, we'll see how that goes!

Lipsense Review

lipsense review

For the past week or so I have been giving LipSense a go & much to my skepticism, this stuff is amazinggg. I have actually already ordered another color! I am wearing Caramel Apple in the above posts, it is the perfect neutral red for day to night activities. So, with this system you need the base (your color), the LipSense gloss, and the Ooops! Remover (you definitely want the remover, if you mess up and get the color on your skin, you probably won't get it off without this). The product does have a chemically smell when you first apply the color, but it works so well I easily overlooked that. Here's how you apply:

1. Shake the color, apply 3 coats. When you apply make sure you go in one direction and only do one swipe per application. This was so hard for me haha, I am so used to just rubbing back and forth! But it looks wayyy better when you follow this rule.

2. Your lips are going to sting slightly and will feel dry, this is where the Moisturizing Gloss comes in. I love this gloss, it isn't sticky and feels so great.

3. The color should last 8-12 hours- depending on what you eat and whatnot. If you eat something greasy the color will breakdown because of the oils, this is the same with all makeup. My color typically lasts about 8 hours before it needs to be refreshed, although you do need to reapply the gloss throughout the day! If you don't, your lips will HATE you. The color doesn't smudge, it doesn't fade, it's pretty insane actually. It's like a stain but it looks like lipstick 💄

4. I don't use the Ooops! Remover to remove the product, I just scrub my lips slightly with a washcloth when I wash my face with a gentle cleanser. At this point in the day the color isn't as vivid and fresh so as long as I haven't applied it within the past few hours, it comes right off.

***If you are interested in trying LipSense you can purchase from Courtney Blackford either on Facebook or message her on Instagram (I highly suggest checking her Instagram out @cournteytayler, she models all the amazing colors!).

Boho-chic

Booties, Choie's c/o
Bag, Coach (vintage) Similar here
Necklaces: here & here
Similar jeans here
Duster, Lularoe (sold here) Similar duster here (under $40)
Similar bangles here

So I was weary about jumping on the Lularoe train, mostly because most of the pieces aren't my style, I like simple and plain pieces so I can mix them up with other simple and plain pieces. But I kept hearing all these great things about it and wanted to try it out for myself! I love a duster sweater, like in this post & this one and knew I would love this gray cardigan. I can totally see me wearing this into spring and even with shorts and sandals on rainy days in summer (ah, summer 😍). It fits in with my semi-boho vibes and I love that. So my lesson learned was never say never. Cliche I know, but you don't know if something will work for you until you try it! Also YAY for my hair finally being long enough to pin it all up with (lotssss) of bobby pins! I missed this hairstyle lol.

I went to the lady doctor today for a physical, joy joy, and apparently I have gained 7 pounds since last year- the horror! I disagree with going by a number though. I have been working out more and I am still the same size, obviously I'm not gaining unhealthy weight and I feel like most people don't take these things into consideration before freaking out. On the way home I thought about how my insecure younger self would have reacted- she wouldn't have eaten hardly anything for a week and would have lost those 7 pounds real quick! I remember being in college and my logic was, 'if I get this chicken sandwich and eat half now and half later, it's the same as two meals.' Then I would go to the gym and do 45 minutes of cardio. So stupid. My current self went to Chick-Fil-A after the appointment for a grilled chicken sandwich (and ate the whole sandwich, not half ha) and fruit then came home and did her Monday workout. Healthy is healthy and numbers don't define that.

Leopard x Black

Today I am so excited to be teaming up with Brittany at Loverly Grey to share how we style our leopard print! I have followed Brittany on Instagram for a while now and love her effortless style- she always knows how to mix edgy with feminine details and I LOVE that. I also love that she has her own unique style- I have so much respect for bloggers who stay true to themselves. Be sure to check out her post!! She is wearing THE CUTEST leopard sweater 💓

I feel like leopard is such a great way to spice things up, especially if you're like me and love an all black look. I was a little worried that this coat might be a bit 'much', but as soon as I tried it on I was in love! I plan to wear it with distressed jeans and a tee next, I think it's best to keep it simple when you wear any print, let the print be your 'statement' piece and just work around that :) (like I did with my leopard booties in this post). If you are looking for a sleek pair of black pants, I can't say enough good things about these skinny pants! I have had them for 4? years now and they still look and feel brand new, definitely worth the investment. Also, the tag says dry-clean only BUT I accidentally washed them in the washing machine once and they are totally fine lol. So that's how I wash them now FYI ;)

The weather has been so gloomy lately! When these pics were snapped it was gray and drizzly (hello frizzy curls) and it's been like that for days. I am so ready for some sunshine. Sunday was my husband's birthday so we were super exciting and celebrated at home...we are very low key if you couldn't tell 🙈 I cooked breakfast for him complete with bday cinnamon rolls (and candles!) then I made his favorite homemade vegetable beef stew...and I'm not cooking for the rest of the week lol. He is a die-hard Patriots fan so there was also lots of football, joy joy! I am not a football girl, not even close. I'm like, what's on Hallmark?? Anyway, I love lazy Sundays and this one was perfect <3

PS: Brittany & I would love to know how your wear your leopard! Tag us on Instagram for a chance to be featured in an upcoming blog post of mine or let us know what your favorite pieces are on our Instagram posts <3

Happy Friday! Let me tell you about my past few days...Tuesday night my dad came over for dinner (I made chicken fajitas and he was amazed by the fact that I could actually cook and was super amazed by Netflix. Ha, he couldn't get over the fact that every show and movie was on there! Oh, parents. And out of allll the movies in the world of Netflix, we watched one that was older than me.) anyway, after he left I started feeling sick and by Wednesday morning I thought I was on my death bed. I hardly ever get sick, but when I do it's always a stomach thing. So annoying. Thank heavens it usually only lasts a day! I woke up Thursday morning feeling like a new person, sooo much better. Can you believe I lost SEVEN pounds in those 18ish hours? I know it was water weight, but still blows my mind. I was thankful to get out of the house this morning! I met Carolyn (@missmyrtleblooms) & Emily (With Style & Grace) at a local coffee shop for girl chatter and coffee, well I had to get green tea bc I wasn't sure how my stomach would take coffee. Do you know how hard it is for a coffee addict to order green tea first thing in the morning at one of her favorite coffee shops?? Hard. I like green tea but not first thing, I need the real stuff.

This casual look was perfect for today. I love that I was comfy but still felt cute- the heeled booties and bits of jewelry helped with that :) If you are looking for a utility jacket (so perfect for spring!) I highly recommend this one! It runs TTS, I am in a small, and I have been told that more sizes will be restocked soon! It's such a great price point for the quality, too. It's lined with a soft almost flannel-like material but it's still thin enough to wear during warmer days (it was in the 60s today when I wore it). I can definitely see many ways to style this in the next coming months!

On Saturdays my friend (@missmyrtleblooms on ig) & I have been meeting for coffee and to do some blog pictures. I look forward to it weekly! I love love love meeting girls that have the same passions as me, and that don't judge me for taking staged pictures of my coffee lol. We always have such a great time! This was one of the looks we shot and I am just as obsessed with this leather moto as I was the first time I wore it. It's that shade of brown that can be worn with brown or black, doubling your ways to wear it. (Last worn on the blog here)

So I am currently planning a trip to Charleston in March and I am undecided on where to stay. If  anyone has suggestions let me know! Last year when I was there we stayed a little farther away from the downtown are than I would have liked, but I (sadly!) didn't do my research and learned from that mistake! I can't wait to walk those historic streets again. I love when you can feel the history in an area, I have chills just thinking about it. Plus it's so beautiful and charming there, every corner you turn is cuter than the last.
