Lady In Red..

Apr 29, 2016

Bag, c/o thredUP | Shirt, c/o Choie's | Jeans, AG. Similar Here | Watch | Bracelet | Shoes & love these

SOOOO, this first week of 'no work' has been amazingly refreshing. I have gotten so much done, I have had time to spend with my grandparents (love that!), and I have just been in a creative and inspired mindset. It's weird not having like, a routine, but I have kept super busy. I have two and a half weeks left before I start school and I have lots planned-including a trip to Charleston!

I love this floral cold shoulder top! It is one size fits all and it's just...perfect. The straps are adjustable and the fabric is lightweight and flowy (can I get an amen!). The colors are even better in person, so pretty. Anyway, hoping it doesn't rain today because I am supposed to be going to the Farmer's Market with my MIL. Fingers crossed because I could always use some fresh flowers <3

Warm Weather Porch Style...

Apr 26, 2016

To update my porch for spring and summer, I like to have lots of plants and colorful pillows. I lucked up and found the two accent pillows at a thrift store! I stumbled on the antique window (I have two others in my home) for $10! Such a steal. The smaller jar that my succulents are planted in (which are from my mother in law's garden) is an old Anthropologie candle jar that I didn't want to trash. Glad I found a cute new use for it. Most of my plants are perennials, so they should come back next year :) When I am picking out new flowers and greenery, I ALWAYS go for the ones that say 'hardy' on the plant tag haha. I do not have the greenest of thumbs and have found that I have the best luck with the stronger ones- like ivy, knock out roses, succulents, etc.

I wanted to do this post to show that you can design and style on a budget. You just need a good 'base', in this case the patio furniture. Everything else was super cheap or re-purposed. Get creative, use your imagination. It's trial and error, but when you get it right, you know!

Beauty Refresh w/ Doll Up Beauty

Apr 25, 2016

Ok, so being a 'fashion' blogger*, obviously I have to be in pictures. And obviously when you know you are going to be in pictures you want to look your best, or try to haha. Sometimes I can get my schedule JUST right and can get my pictures done before I have time to spill something on me or mess up my makeup, aka, have someone take photos right after I get ready. Other times, like this past Sunday, I have things to do before this can be done. This time it was the important task of brunch :) ((I was oh so careful not to spill my coffee on myself!)) On days like this, especially warm days in NC, a makeup refresher is pretty inevitable! Rather than lug around a heavy bulky makeup bag, I am so glad to have found Dollup Beauty's makeup organizer. This slim clutch contains a mirror, a place to insert mascaras, lipglosses, etc, and it also has a magnetic palette to keep your makeup in place. I was a little confused about this at first, but most of makeup compacts (Dior, Chanel, etc) contain magnetic makeup pans that you can 'depot'. You place these on the magnetic wall in the clutch and voila! They stay in place. Why didn't I think of this?? Ladies, this is life changing. No more lugging around allll of those compacts, just the clutch :) (PS: I got the rose gold one. So pretty!)

*I say 'fashion' blogger because I really don't consider myself to be this haha. I am more of just a blogger that documents personal style <3

I will share outfit details in my next post!

Olive x Pink

Apr 22, 2016

Top ($26!) | Shoes | Watch | Bracelet | Similar jeans here | Bag, Poverty Flats by rian c/o | Earrings, Happiness Boutique c/o

This is one of my favorite types of outfits: oversized top, awesome ripped denim, sassy heels, and a statement piece of jewelry. The pink pop is just an added bonus ;) I am obsessed with these earrings. They take me back to my high school days- I kid you not, I had over 40 pairs of earrings. All statement and dangly. Loveddd them! I wore a different pair every single day. It was my way of switching up my looks and adding flair to an outfit on a high schooler's fast food restaurant pay check budget. I always got complimented on my earrings too :) (I know that's not important, but it is nice to hear kind words!)

Exciting things! Today is my LAST DAY at my office job. So excited to start a new chapter in my life! Tomorrow I will be doing my sister's hair and makeup for prom, as well as taking her and her group's prom pics. Sunday I have a photo session with the cutestttt couple! Can't wait to share all these photos with you guys <3

PS: Check out Instagram on Monday, 4/25! I will be doing a $500 Nordstrom gift card giveaway :)
**Edit, giveaway will be on Monday.

Thanks for reading, xoxo

Be Brave

Apr 20, 2016

Earrings | Top | Jeans | Watch | Bag | Similar shoes here

I titled this post 'Be Brave' because sometimes it's hard to do that. What if something goes wrong? What if it doesn't work out? What about rejection? What if, what if. There will always be 'what ifs'. Look past it. Move forward. Be yourself. Unapologetically and wholeheartedly, just be you. No matter who talks about you, no matter who doubts you, no matter who steals your ideas, just keep going. I mean really, what is there to lose? One day we will all be dead and gone and there will be a completely new population of people on this planet- living their lives, typing on their laptops (maybe not? Maybe some new invention by then!), going about the hustle and bustle that is their present. Our present is now, and each day our lives are getting shorter. Don't stress the past, you can't change it. Don't worry about the future, it may not even happen. Life is short! Enjoy it while you can and don't be afraid to shine.

I hope someone needed this, I know I needed it myself and it feels good to get it off my chest <3
xoxo
