When I choose in an investment piece, I always take a few factors into consideration.
The main factors are:
1. How long will this be in style?
2. How much use will I get out of it?
3. Can I use this item all year?
4. Will I get tired of this quickly?
Considering these, I usually choose an expensive handbag for my 'splurge' purchases. I do this because I can carry the bag all year, I'll get TONS of wear out a bag, and handbags just make my heart sing! Don't get me wrong, I love other accessories too. Just not enough to spend a grand on them. Like these shoes. I love the look of the Valentino Rockstuds, but how much would I wear them? Not a lot. They (in my life) are just not an everyday shoe. I don't live in an episode of Sex and The City, heels for daily wear just aren't practical for my life. So when I ran across these online, for $40, I just knew I had to get them. I love the neutral (they come in tons of colors!) and the heel height is perfect. They do run small, I am usually an 8 and ordered an 8.5. They fit perfect.
Anyway, this weekend we did some exploring in the small Pamlico River town of Washington, NC. It is about three hours from home and we stayed the night at a bed and breakfast. This was my first b&b experience and it did not disappoint! The town and b&b were both like something out of Hallmark movie and I couldn't get enough! I will be sharing pics of the trip throughout the week (in addition to my outfit posts, so there may be a couple extra posts this week).
